Toshiba has released its new RF single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, suitable for industrial equipment and telecommunications base stations.

This offers an input peak power of 46dBm (at 8dm PAR) which has been achieved through using CMOS process and optimising internal switch circuitry. It has lost TCWA1225G is 0.6dB (tpy. At 5Ghz), this is due to the CMOS process that reduces insertion loss to avoid lowering transmit power and receiver sensitivity.

Power consumption is 50μA and operating voltage is nominally 3.3V, being able to withstand temperatures of -40?C to +95?C.

The wafer-level Chip Scale Package encases the TCWA1225G which measures at 1.9x1.9mm. The periphery of the device is fitted with RF terminals, power and control to simplify the PCB layout.

Massive MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) and several TX/RX antennas have been installed onto ultra-high-speed and ultra-large-capacity radio communications services as part of the 5G rollout.

Low insertion loss and high input power are required for individual antennas to be composed of complex signal transmission paths that need RF switching. This helps maintain or reduce the size of antennas as well.

Toshiba provides both consumers and businesses with a variety of hardware products, with the TCWA1225G being the latest in their portfolio. They specialise in telecommunications and networking, as well as automation. It provides a variety of hard drive disk solutions for these industries, including diodes to microcontrollers.
