Q-Tech Corporation – a leading global supplier of space-qualified crystal oscillators and high-performance frequency control systems – announces the introduction of the AXTAL GHz Series of high-performance/ultra-low noise/high-frequency crystal oscillators and modules to the U.S. market. Developed and manufactured by Q-Tech’s recently acquired European affiliate, AXTAL, these ultra-low phase noise (close-in and noise floor) crystal-controlled sources offer competitive packaging and performance advantages in a range of applications (military, aviation and space). Benefits include higher resolution and accuracy for radar systems, better quality and more transmittable information in communication systems, and higher accuracy and a lower measurement limit in RF measurement systems.
The GHz Series comprises a wide variety of crystal oscillator types, from SAW clocks to customized versions of ultra-low noise OCXOs, that allow odd frequencies and modules with multiple outputs. In addition to radar and communication systems, the GHz Series improves performance in transponders, synthesizers and RF measurement equipment.
“Radar and similar applications require frequency generation up to the Gigahertz range,” says Scott Sentz, Q-Tech’s VP of sales and marketing. “Our AXTAL GHz Series not only offers ultra-low noise OCXOs operating at the crystal frequency – but also entire custom modules that generate Gigahertz signals using frequency multiplication and/or PLL techniques. The modules are fully customizable, which saves the customer time and effort to take care of the entire frequency generation chain.”
